2012 Mt Hagen Show Weekender (Tour Code: SH-W12) 
The 2012 Mt Hagen Show Weekender package includes two days of cultural extravaganzas in Mt Hagen plus village discovery tour of Western Highlands.
Mt Hagen Show is one of the most extraordinary sights ever witnessed by international travelers. Beneath an intense tropical sun and surrounded by jungle-clad mountains, over 2,000 tribesmen and women parade onto a sports field. Their bodies glistened with pig fat and their faces with red, black and yellow ochre. The man wear pig tusks through their noses and quills from the cassowary, a giant bird the size of an emu. They sport glittering head-dresses made from bird of paradise feathers, and round their waists they wear grass kilts, known somewhat cheekily in Papua New Guinea's Pidgin English as "arse-grass".
4 nights itinerary brief overview: 09th to 13th August 2012 covering Mt Hagen Show and the surrounding villages of Western Highlands Province.
Day 1: Thurs 09th - Mt Hagen (Bukapena Village)
Arrive in Port Moresby connect to Mt Hagen on flight PX182 at 15:15 and arrive in Mt Hagen at 16:15. Overnight at Hotel Poroman. (D)
Day 2: Fri 10th – Pakuwat Mini Show/ Rugli Village
First half of the day attend Pakuwat mini-show, a prelude of what you would be expecting in the Mt Hagen Show on the weekend. In the afternoon village discovery trip visiting the Rugli village for culture, traditions and village-life discovery of the Kumdi tribes people. Overnight at Hotel Poroman. (BLD)
Day 3 & 4: Sat 11th & Sun 12th - Hotel/ Show Ground
Spend these two days enjoying the show festivity where you will be captivated by the cultural extravaganza displayed by hundreds of different tribes of PNG. Overnight at Hotel Poroman. (BLD)
Day 4: Mon 13th - Mt Hagen/Port Moresby
After breakfast transfer to the airport and board flight PX181 to Port Moresby. Flight departs at 10:40 and arrives at 11:40. END OF PROGRAM.
